POST #26 - PLANNING: PLOT AND SCRIPT

The plot has been finalised! Finally! So why don't we run through it, plotbeat by plotbeat?

We start off seeing Alan sitting at a table outside a cafe. He's having a phone call, while letting his drink go cold. We can hear a female voice, Lisa, on the other end of the phone, who's trying to gently let Alan know it's over. On her end, Lisa's new boyfriend, Chad, grabs the phone. He shouts down to Alan that "the world is gonna roll him". Furious, Alan hangs up, and leaves the cafe.

He walks into a musical instrument shop, looking at a selection of guitars, feeling sad. He remembers how he played guitar for Lisa. He leaves the shop without buying anything, and starts walking down the street. He stops for a second, seeing a poster. It reads "MUSICAL TALENT WANTED!", and then a phone number. Alan considers it, then walks away. A second later, he rips the poster off the wall, and runs home. This is the point where All Star starts playing.

Alan starts playing the guitar in front of a musician talent scout. After playing through the pre-chorus, the scout gives a thumbs up. After that, we see CDs being stacked on top of each other; of Alan. "All Star" is the name of the album, and Alan is seen signing some copies, before being handed a new contract. He throws all the pages aside, bar the final one. It says, in very large text, "You make more music, then you make more money." Alan scribbles out the "money" with his pen, and writes "happiness" in it's place. The same talent scout looks at the newly improved contract, then gives another thumbs up.

After gradual successes, and more turndowns of a fancier life by Alan, we see how happy he finally is. He's chilling in his house, enjoying a cup of tea. The song is reaching it's close. Suddenly, there's a knock at the door. It's Lisa! She's holding up a sign, saying "Be My Boyfriend?". Alan looks at it for a second, then, using the same pen as before, crosses out the "boy" part. He then invites her in, and both seem happy. Alan closes the door as the song ends. Roll credits.

Yay! A final idea! :D
