Settings... yay. The "fun" bit. And by "fun", I mean boring. But it has to be done.
COSTA COFFEE
The setting for the opening scene, where Alan sits on the phone to his ex. The set-up includes an inside and outside area with tables, chairs, etc. When I thought up the beginning of the music video, that particular coffee shop was exactly what I was envisioning. It's located on White Lion Street, a tangent from the main high street of Norwich. As a precaution, I'll make sure to actually buy something from Costa, so that they can't enforce some rule like "seating only for customers". Ideally, I'd like to spend between 15 and 20 minutes filming the scene here.
WATERFRONT, NORWICH
The setting for the signing for fans scene. I've been there before, and the outside is usually very quiet during the daytime, when there's no performances going on. Usually, there are different posters for bands and upcoming performances on the walls, so it'd fit with main character being a musician. I want to have Alan walking out of it, then meeting a couple of fans out the front. Maybe we could spend half an hour here, just because the scene is so short that we don't have to be there long.
WYMONDHAM HIGH S14
The scene for the contract signing initially. It embodies the "small-time" artist feel I want at the beginning, just starting out playing in small auditoriums. I may need to ask for all the seats to be set up, so that the talent scout has somewhere to sit. If not, then I can just get out a couple of plastic chairs.
ST BENEDICT STREET /
The street with the music shop and where I plan to have the poster. For the poster, I want to put it up on the outside of the gaming cafe, One Life Left. I'm friendly with the people who run it, so I'm sure by asking nicely, they'll let me both put up the poster and film in front of their cafe. Just along the street from there is a music shop, selling various guitars, pianos, etc. I could use that as the location for the scene where Alan tries out some musical instruments.
