POST #1 - PRACTICE TASK EXPLAINED
"My group (Megan, Noah, Wendy and I) were randomly given a fairy tale or nursery rhyme, and a question.
We were tasked with creating a music video relevant to one of the stimuli given.
The fairy tale we were given was- 'The boy who cried wolf'. The question we were given was 'What if you said yes to everything?'
After discussion, we decided to choose the nursery rhyme (the boy who cried wolf). This was because we initially had more ideas for this stimulus, and felt we could develop an interesting music video. This is our original mind map for this idea:

Potential song choices:
'Running with the Wolves'- Aurora:
This was one of our first choices. We liked the song, and felt it was relevant, but in the end, decided it was too dark for our new idea.
'The boy who cried Wolf'- Passenger.
For our first idea, we decided to use this song. It was our first choice as it suited the themes and emotion of our idea. It is sad, but not overly dark. However, when we changed our idea, we felt we needed to change the song to suit it more. This is because this song is darker than our new idea.
This is the song we chose to use:
Puppy dog eyes'- Lucy Spraggan:

Our final idea changed a lot- Primarily, we had decided to base our video on a young boy and his dog. His dog was his best friend, and it was happy and bright. Throughout the video, we mostly focus on the boys point of view, but towards the end, the focus shifts, and we see his worried parents. Finally, at the end, it is revealed that the dog was imaginary all along, and the boy is left alone. It ends on a more bittersweet note.
However, we decided against this idea, as it was practically difficult- we couldn't find a boy young enough, and we couldn't get any parents willing to act. Because of this, we decided to change our idea, so it was practically easier:
We decided to use two actors who were portraying a couple. The video starts off happily, and they are walking their dogs, completely in love. We haven't decided on an end, but we will either make it happy (and show them getting back together), or make it sad (and show them leaving, and end on their dogs alone)."
